Ahmet Arslan, born on January 1st, 1950 Kırşehir, Turkey. College education (1973) Aegean University, İzmir, Turkey. Graduate studies both MS and Phd, University of Arizona (UA), Tucson, Arizona, USA. Worked as research assistant at the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology (Dr Kaoru Matsuda Lab), UA, Tucson, AZ. Research Biochemist, Carl Hayden Bee Research Center, Tucson, AZ and Post graduate research assistant, Health Sciences Center, Internal Medicine, Department of Pharmacology (Dr Siraj Mofti’s Lab), UA, AZ. Upon returning back to Turkey several administrative post at (Technical and Scientific Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). During this time he was representative of Turkey for Royal Society and NATO (1967-1988). Became faculty member at Selcuk University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biology and Genetics (1989-1999). Full Professor in 1998. He was visiting Scientist at Prof Lucio Luzzato, Department of Hematology, Hammersmitrh Hospital, London (1990), Prof Renat Zhdanov Lab, Institute of Biotechnology, Moscow, Russia (1995) and Prof Christ Walsh Brain Development and Genetics Lab, Beth Israel Deaconnes Medical Center, Department Neurology, Harvard University, Boston, MA, USA (1998-1999). Full Professor and Medical Biology Department head (1999-2017) at Gaziantep University, Faculty of Medicine. Carried out several administrative jobs including Assistant Rectorateship, Director of Health Sciences Institute, Director of Basic Medical Sciences. Became faculty member of Faculty of Medicine and Department Head of Medical Genetics, Namık Kemal University, Tekirdag, Turkey. He is the expert evaluater of EU FP6.
