Biography

Dingbo Daniel Lin graduated in 1988 from Zhejiang A & F University China, M.S. in 1991 from Shanxi Agricultural University and PhD in department of horticulture from Zhejiang University in 1996. He is Postdoc in Department of Biochemistry from Kansas State University in 2007. He received many awards including 2016 OSU College of Human Sciences the Marguerite Scruggs Award for Meritorious Early Career Research. He was in 2016 USDA-AFRI Review Panel for the Program of the Function and Efficacy of Foods. He has refereed many publications for different universities. As a junior tenure-track faculty, He is working on teaching, research, and outreach/advising in the area of nutritional sciences. Their laboratory is broadly interested in how food bioactives prevent and/or delay the development of chronic inflammation and insulin resistance in obesity and type 2 diabetes. More specifically, they are currently focused on the molecular mechanism of β,β-carotene-9,10-oxygenase 2 (BCO2) and carotenoids in mitochondrial integrity in inflammation and insulin resistance.
