Biography

Elevina E. Perez Sira was born in Caracas Venezuela, in 1949, and she is biologist from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, with a Magister Scientiarum of Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and she completed her doctorate in Food Science and Technology at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. She was head of the graduate program in Food Science and Technology of the Science Faculty of the Universidad Central of Venezuela, and she participated as counselor of the Biology school, and Science Faculty councils. she also head of 14 research projects, that have been focused in production and characterization of non-conventional grains, roots, tubers, and musaceas, with emphasis in the use of its starches and flours in the development of new products. She also advised several Thesis (33 for Bachelors, 33 for Masters, and 16 for Doctorates) in the under graduate and graduate Food Science programs of the Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnologia de Alimentos, Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Presently she is working in the development of food for consumer with a diet with regimes special. She is working as adviser at the Management of Project Innovation of the Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Alimentacion Venezuela.
